First of all, for the sake of full disclosure, I just wanted to mention that I don't read or write in Japanese, so all the Kanjis I am using here I searched online (I just think they look super cool so why not use them, right?) With that now out of the way, lets talk about Tokyo. Tokyo officially became the capital of Japan in 1868, after the government was transferred from Kyoto. The Greater Tokyo area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world with over 37 million people, and about 13 million of them living in the capital main area.
