Second stop, El Calafate. A beautiful small town in Santa Cruz province, almost at the tip of the South America (not too far from Antartica!) and a gateway to Los Glaciares National Park and the Perito Moreno Glacier.

On the way to the Big Ice, the 4 hour trekking over the glacier.

After spending a couple of days in El Calafate the next stop was a very small town called El Chalten.
First hike in El Chalten – a total of 8 hours walking, 22km (13.5 miles) covered and aprox. 37,000 steps. All to to see the Fitz Roy mountain from the Laguna de Los Tres.
